Sanitary and Handling Notice

To help protect families and staff, we ask that all donated items be handled and distributed according to basic hygiene standards. Clothing, blankets, and washable fabric items should be clean and freshly laundered before donation if not new . Items such as baby essentials, mother essentials, nursing items, children’s clothing, adult clothing, and diaper bags should be inspected for stains, tears, odors, pet hair, mold, pests, or damage before being given out.

Recipients should also inspect all items before use and wash clothing and washable goods after receipt. If an item is intended for babies or young children, extra care should be taken to ensure it is clean, safe, and appropriate for use. Any items that appear damaged, unsanitary, or unsafe should not be used and thrown away.
